Eco-mobilier is a state-approved eco-organization funded by eco-contributions, and its main mission is to give used furniture a second life. This is done by recycling it or using it as a source of energy. When you have furniture you want to dispose of, here’s what you can do:
Furniture in good condition:
- You can choose to donate them to a social and solidarity economy structure.
- You also have the option to resell them in the second-hand market, giving others the chance to appreciate them.
Used furniture:
- If your furniture is no longer in good condition, you can take them to a waste disposal center.
All furniture collected in Eco-mobilier bins is then transported to specialized sorting centers. There, the materials are carefully separated by type (wood, mattresses, metal, plastic, etc.). These materials are then sent for recycling, where they are transformed into new products or used as an energy source.
When you buy a new piece of furniture, you pay an eco-contribution. This contribution is fully transferred to Eco-mobilier to finance the collection, sorting, recycling, and/or recovery of used furniture. It’s an essential way to promote reusing, repurposing, and reduce the environmental impact of furnishing.
